Les données concernant les enfants de 3 à 10 ans ont été recueillies en face-à-face par des diététiciens ; 808 enfants ont été inclus dans l'étude. Le nombre de jours pendant lesquels l'enfant avait pratiqué des jeux en plein air et le temps passé devant la télévision ,
39% des enfants de 3 à 10 ans ne jouaient jamais en plein air. Seuls 50% des enfants pratiquaient des jeux en plein air au moins 2 jours d'école par semaine Cette proportion était significativement moins élevée chez les enfants en surpoids ou obèses (33%) que chez ceux de corpulence normale (52%), et chez les enfants passant 2 heures ou plus par jour devant la télévision (37%) par rapport à ceux la regardant moins de 2 heures par jour (56%) La pratique de jeux en plein air était moindre également chez les enfants résidant dans l'agglomération parisienne, chez ceux issus d'un ménage ,
